The Money Wise Platform was launched by the Ministry of Finance to improve the financial fitness of Dutch citizens. In order to achieve this, partners from government, financial services industry, NGO’s and academia collaborate in the platform.
Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands is Honorary Chair of the platform. In this role, the Queen asks attention for the importance of financial education and Savvy Money Management, especially for vulnerable groups. Queen Máxima is special advisor to the platform and speaks to stakeholders about ways in which financial fitness and (self) reliance can be improved.

The Program Office of the platform is located within the Financial Markets Directorate of the Ministry of Finance and consists of a multidisciplinary team of passionate and knowledgeable professionals in the area of policy, communication, education and project management.

Netherlands is an active Full Member of OECD’s International Network on Financial Education (INFE). Netherlands provides the Vice Chair of INFE’s Board.
Netherlands regularly provides Technical Assistance to countries who wish to set up and implement their own National Strategy for financial education. In 2018, Netherlands launched a five year project in collaboration with OECD to provide Technical Assistance to seven countries that are part of the Dutch Constituency of IMF, World Bank and EBRD. The seven countries in the project are Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North-Macedonia and Romania.
